An agreement on the provision of a representative fleet of up to 160 vehicles was signed at the Austrian Foreign Ministry today. It will ensure transportation of top-ranking government officials and their delegations during Austria's OSCE Chairmanship in 2017 as well as during Austria's EU Council Presidency in 2018.

The fleet will range from Audi A6, A8 to Q7 models, partly armoured, and also comprise Volkswagen Multivans.

"We are happy to cooperate again with Porsche Austria. During the Austrian EU Council Presidency 2006 already, we were provided a special car fleet from Porsche Austria. This cooperation has proven its value, Porsche Austria is a strong partner for our Chairmanship", said the Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs, Michael Linhart, at the signing ceremony with Porsche Austria's Managing Director, Wilfried Weitgasser. The vehicles will solely be steered by drivers from the Austrian Armed Forces, which will be specially trained in driving techniques.

"Austria is on the world's spotlight at such political major events. We are pleased to support the Foreign Ministry by providing a high-end vehicle fleet suiting utmost standards", praises Wilfried Weitgasser and adds: "By using Audi models as well VW Multivans each equipped with all-wheel drive, the guests can rely on maximum driving safety even under bad weather conditions."

The first 160 vehicles will be provided on July 11 at the occasion of a Foreign Ministers meeting of the OSCE participating States under Austrian Chairmanship.
